LAHORE: Three more witnesses retracted on Thursday their earlier statements in the Zain murder case before an anti-terrorism court (ATC) judge.

During the proceedings, the prosecution presented three witnesses -Ishaq, Yousaf and Qasim -for recording their statements.

They also refused to recognise Mustafa Kanju.

At this, the court adjourned hearing till Oct 29 and summoned further prosecution witnesses.

Most of the witnesses, including complainant Sohail Afzal, have retracted their statements in the matter.

On April 1, Mustafa Kanju, son of former state minister Siddique Kanju, allegedly opened fire in Cavalry Ground area, killing Zain and leaving another pedestrian injured.

On June 30, the ATC judge had indicted Kanju and four others -Asif, Sadiq, Sadullah and Alcram. APP
