LAHORE: Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) emir Sirajul Haq announced on Thursday the chiefs of provincial chapters.
Mian Maqsood Ahme d has replaced Dr Syed Waseem Akhtar in Punjab, while Dr Merajul Huda Siddiqui will continue to hold the office of the JI Sindh chief for a second term.
Mushtaq Ahmed Khan is Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief, while Maulana Abdul Haq Hashmi will head the Balochistan chapter.
Also, Mr Haq said in a statement the country`s polltics and democracy were protecting the interests of elite as politics had been rendered to be a tool for making money.
He said the poor could only watch the game of politics and not participate in it as the sole objective of the current politics was to milk the majority to the benefit of a few elite families. The JI emir said the only job for the masses was to pay bills and taxes.
