Furnace oil record case Court again extends bail of accused

GUJRANWALA: A court again extended Nandipur power plant`s (suspended) chief security officer Rao Mehtab Alam Khan`s pre-arrest bail in the furnace oil record torching case till Oct 22.

The Aroop Town police had moved court for cancellation of his bail.

Initially, the CSO had his security guards Balgias Khan and Salahuddin arrested for torching the furnace oil record. Balgias Khan confessed to his crime during interrogation and said he set the record on ñre at the behest of his boss.

The higher authorities suspended him from service and nominated as an accused in the case and directed police to arrest him. But he disappeared from office and got bail from the Lahore High Court which transferred the case to Gujranwala sessions court.

Aroop Town SHO Khurram Shahzad said police had moved court for cancellation of his bail. He confirmed Salahuddin had been released as he was found innocent in an investigation and Balgias Khan also was bailed out by court on submission of surety bonds worth Rs50,000.

The power plant chief executive, Muhammad Asif, and some other senior officers were transferred on the recommendation of inquiry teams of Pepco and Muzaffargarh power plant.

SHOT DEAD: A minor girl was shot dead when a pistol in his brother`s hands went of f at Gondlanwala on Saturday.

Rani, 5, and her brother Imran, 8, were playing with pistol of their father Zafar Iqbal in the compound of their house when the weapon went of f and hit the girl. She died on way to the DHQ hospital.

CASES: The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) had cases registered against an SHO and a general bus stand clerk when they were found guilty in inquiries on Saturday.

SHO Tariq Mehboob got Rs30,000 from a man to declare him innocent in a case but he still did not clear him in investigation at behest of his rivals.

General bus stand clerk Azhar Qureshi extorted Rs15,000 from transport operator Imran to help him get bus route.

ACE circle officer Safdar Hussain probed the allegations and regional director Rana Abdul Shakoor had cases registered.
