KASUR: Pattoki Police on Sunday arrested a prayer leader on charge of rape attempt on a minor girl on the premises of a mosque at Habibabad.

The suspect (30) took his Eve years old student upstairs on the pretext of cleaning the roof. Later, he allegedly stripped the child`s clothes and attempted to rape her.

People present in the mosque rushed to the roof and rescued the girl.

According to police, the suspect tortured thevictim when she resisted the sexual assault.

On receiving information that the villagers held the prayer leader, police rushed to the spot and took him into custody.
