QUET TA: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) arrested on Tuesday two assistant directors of the Quetta Passport Office for their alleged involvement in corruption.
According to sources, FIA`s Quetta crime circle arrested Yousuf Malik, adata entry operator, two days ago after receiving information that he allegedly took bribe from people for issuing passports. During interrogation, he disclosed that he shared the money with two officers.
An FIA team, headed by Deputy Director Rizwan Aslam, raided the office and took Assistant Directors Shamsullah and Malik Anwar into custody.The sources said that the operator had been arrested red-handed in the presence of a judicial magistrate when he was receiving bribe from an applicant.
A citizen had informed FIA officials that the passport of his brother was ready but the official concerned was demanding Rs13,000 for handing it over.
