GHALANAl: The political administration along with the personnel of security forces and elders demolished six houses of most wanted militants during a search operation in Qandharai area of Safi tehsil here on Tuesday.
Officials said the militants were involved in 91 attacks of improvised explosive devices across the agency, 38 of which were carried out in Safi tehsil.
They said that the security men, tribesmen and volunteers of peace committee were killed in these attacks.
Safi tehsildar Mohammad Miraj Khan said that during the joint search operation houses of six most wanted militants identified as Fayaz Khan, Ayaz Khan, Pervez Khan, Sher Afzal, Abdul Ahad and Inam Khan, were demolished in Qandharai.
The operation was launched after tribal elders decided that strict action would be taken against those tribesmen who were found sheltering anti-state elements in the area.
Officials said that terrorism was the common enemy of all the tribesmen and thus needed to be rooted out completely.
They urged the tribal elders to safeguard their schools and hospitals because anti-state elements want to destroy these institutions.
