PTI brought change in corrupt system of govt: CM

MINGORA: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak said that PTI-led provincial government brought visible change in the previously corrupt system of government and turned its slogan of `change` into reality.

He was addressing the parents` day function of Swat Cadet College in Guli Bagh area of Charbagh tehsil here on Tuesday. He also laid the foundation stone of the construction of the phase IH of the college.

The chief minister said that peace was restored in the area owing to sacrifices of Swati people and security forces. `The people of Swat and security forces took brave stance against antistat elements when militancy was on its peal<. This is the difference between past and present,` he added.

Mr Khattak said that better and equal education system was the only way to lead nations towards progress and development. `The nations, who do not give proper attention to their education system, face difficulties,` he added.

The chief minister said that in the past no government tried to introduce a better and equal system of education. He said that selfcentred politicians deliberately created a gap between poor and rich.

He said that civilised nations always gave preference to education as it prepared civilised nations.

`Civilised nations are the factors of development but unfortunately, the nationalinstitutions were looted in the past and the entire system was paralysed,` he added.

The chief minister said that PTI raised the slogan of `change` after realisation of the broken system and corrupt setup. He said that entire system was lying collapsed when PTI came into power.

`There was huge political interference in institutions, corruption was on peak and government institutions seemed to be the personal properties of the employees,` he said, adding that PTI stood against all the odds and started reforms in each institution.

`Despite resistance we are successful in our mission. We have reforme d institutions and made legislations so that nobody in future can detract the system again. Today, people can feel and see big change in the province,` he claimed.

Mr Khattak said that the PTI government started taking steps to bring state-run schools at par with private schools. `Due to our positive steps people are admitting their children to government schools,` he said. He added that equal education system would end difference between rich and poor.

The chief minister also announced a package of Rs1.35 billion for the construction of the phase three and Rs20 million for educational activities of Swat Cadet College. He said that government had already granted Rs0.58 billion to the college.-Correspondent
