2016-11-16
PESHAWAR: A group of Pakistani women married to Afghan refugees on Tuesday appealed to Army Chief Gen Raheel Sharif and Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan to allow their spouses to come back to Pakistan on a permanent basis.

The women and their children belonging to different localities of Peshawar staged a protest demonstration on the Sher Shah Suri Road and shouted slogans. They were also carrying banners and placards inscribed with their demands.

Talking to media persons the women said they had received life threats from unknown people in case they entered Afghanistan and thus they were reluctant to leave Pakistan.

They said their spouses had been deported to Afghanistan and that they along with their children were still living in Pakistan without proper resources of livelihood. The women said in the prevailing situation they were unable to send their children to school and provide them proper food due to poverty.-BureauReport
