KHAR: Expressing dismay over delay in introducing reforms in tribal areas, Bajaur Political Parties Alliance has announced to mobilise political leaders to ensure speedy enforcement of the proposed reforms.
Addressing a meeting here on Tuesday, the leaders of various political parties affiliated with All Bajaur Political Parties Alliance expressed concerns over delay in implementation of the reforms in tribal areas.
They said that unnecessary delay in the reforms disappointed tribal people. They accused the federal government of using delaying tactics in implementation of reforms in the tribal areas.
The participants of the meeting said that tribal people pinned hope on the government for implementation of reforms in the region following formation of the reforms committee.
The participants also criticised leaders of some political and religious parties for opposing reforms in tribal areas. They said that implementation of reforms in tribal areas was need ofthe hour as people were feed up with the current system of governance in the region.
They also criticised officials of local administration for not implementing decisions of Fata tribunal in the agency. They decided to step up their efforts for bringing changes in the tribal areas.
It was decided that leaders of the alliance would meet with leadership of every political and religious party for implementation of reforms in the area.
The participants rejected the government plan to merge Fata with Khyber Pakhtunlchwa in the next five years.
The participants criticised federal government for imposing ban on establishing new schools in the tribal area.
They urged the government to lift the ban on establishing of schools with immediate ef fect.
The said that ban on establishing of new schools badly affected children in tribal areas. They said that thousands of children were deprived of education owing to lack of facilities in tribal areas. Correspondent
