War crimes

2023-12-16
THE ongoing genocide in Gaza has pained even Jew and Christian communities around the world. It is quite clear that the West has left the Muslim world far behind in condemning the atrocities being committed by the Zionist regime in Israel, and in calling for an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza. The governments in the West have been seen feeling the heat that has been generated by consistent public protests. The governments in the Muslim world have no such pressure on them.

The story of persecution, mass murder and deportation of German Jews during World War II is nothing compared to the genocide that has been perpetrated in Gaza by Israel, the United States and their allies in the West. Together, they have converted Gaza into a graveyard through relentless bombardment. And they have not stopped yet. This surely callsfornaturaljustice and open trialof Joe Biden, Benjamin Netanyahu and others involved in this heinous crime against humanity.

The US and Israel have failed to demonise Hamas as a terrorist organisation. In fact, today, there is more understanding and empathy related to Hamas and its ideology. The world opinion is largely in its favour, thanks mainly to the social media where people have exposedNetanyahu`s plans to usurp natural and mineral resources in Gaza.

Also, this is the first time one can see a divide clearly emerging between Judaism and zionism. At many places, even inside Israel, Jews are part of crowds demonstrating against the lingering atrocity. They have condemned Israeli barbarity and US complicity in unambiguous terms.

It is time to make all the shady characters facejustice byholdingan open trial for war crimes and crimes against humanity to ensure that such things neverhappen again, and toensure that liberty, freedom and fundamental rights of every citizen living across the globe are protected under international law.

Besides, it is also time for the world to consider dissolving the utterly toothless United Nations that has failed to bring peace in either Gaza or occupied Kashmir after a rather long, oppressive rule by Israel and India, respectively.
