LAHORE: A lineman of the Lahore Electric Supply Company (Lesco) was seriously injured in attack by some defaulters during the ongoing campaign for recovery of outstanding dues from Chronic defaulters in Lilyani Sub-Division of Kasur Circle.
According to a Lesco spokesman, Lineman Allah Ditta went to Vandana village, and exchangedwords with some defaulters over nonpayment of their outstanding electricity dues.
The suspects allegedly attacked the lineman and hit him with butts of guns and stabbed him with knives.
As a result, he suffered injuries to hisnose,Engers andleg.
Later, on the complaint of Lesco`s Kasur superintending engineer and executive engineer, the area police registered an FIR against the attackers and started search operation to arrest the culprits.Meanwhile, the Lesco admin has removed three of its officials from service after their involvement in electricity theft and negligence in their duties got proved.
The company`s spokesman said on Sunday that Chief Engineer (Operations) Muhammad Abbas removed Assistant Manager Wahee d Zaf ar, Line Superintendent Rizwan Zafar and a Meter Reader Mohsin from service for their involvement in electricity theft and negligence in their duties.
