LAKKI MARWAT: The Bannu district administration has unveiled a manual for schoolchildren on ethics, politeness and good manners and civic sense.

Deputy commissioner Abdul Hameed Khan and Brig Naveed Ahmad were the chief guests on the occasion, where assistant commissioner Syed Abrar Ali Shah, teachers of government and private schools, religious scholars, journalists, and students were in attendance.

Officials said the manual, titled `Guidance for Young Minds,` had been published under the chief minister`s public service agenda to instillmoral values and good behaviour in primary schoolchildren.

They said thebooklet had colourful images and 20 chapters on kindness, honesty, hygiene, road safety, and dining manners.

The assistant commissioner said thecharacter building and civic education initiative could be replicated in other districts.

He said classes would be regularly inspected by school leaders and administration officers.

Mr Abrar said 5,000 bookletshad been printed for distribution to 100 government boys and girls primary schools inthe district.

He said that after the completion of the pilot phase, the manual would be introduced in all educational institutionsof the district.

The assistant commissioner asked private schools to introduce the booklet in theirsyllabus.

The deputy commissioner said the primary goal of the initiative was to offer schoolchildren an engaging and enriching educational experience.

He said the `thoughtful` compilation aimed at shaping young minds, building their character, and paving the way for their bright future.

Later, shields were given away to people from different walks of life, including businesspersons and designers, who helped prepare and publishthe booklet. Ghulam Mursalin Marwat
