SHANGLA: Militants attacked a police post in Towa area of Puran tehsil here late on Wednesday night, leaving two constables injured.

According to police, over a dozen assailants attacked the check-post on Wednesday night.

They said that the personnel retaliated and forced the attackers to flee.

Soon after hearing about the attack, local people reached the check-post to take on the attackers. However, by then, the attackers had left the area.

Tehreek-i-Taliban, Malakand region group, accepted responsibility for the attack on their social media accounts on Thursday, while warning that they would hit more targets in Shangla and parts ofthe region.
