Balochistan to strictly implement NAP

QUETTA: The provincial apex committee on Thursday decided to implement the National Action Plan in letter and spirit.

Discussing the current security situation, the committee resolved not to let terrorists remerge and create security threat.

A meeting of the provincial apex committee held on Thursday was was presided over by Chief Minister Nawab Sanaullah Khan Zehri to review law and order and security situation.

Commander Southern Command Lt Gen Aamir Riaz, Home Minister Mir Sarfaraz Ahmed Bugti, Chief Secretary Saifullah Chattah, Frontier Corps Inspector General Maj Gen Nadeem Anjum, IG Police Ahsan Mehboob, home secretary and other senior ofhcials of the security agencies attended the meeting.

Official sources said that Chief Secretary Chattah and officials of lawenforcement agencies and police briefed the committee about the current law and order situation in the province in detail.

The meeting discussed the existing security situation in the province and reservations in view of recent terrorism acts which took place in Quetta and other towns and cities of the country.

The apex committee expressed the resolve that the terrorists would not be allowed to resurface and those becoming a threat for security would be dealt with.

`In order to implement the National Action Plan in accordance with its true spirit an effective strategy should be adopted to ensure useful coordination among all concerned security agencies.

Other important decisions were also taken in the meeting which continued for several hours.

The meeting expressed satisfaction over the performance of police, Levies, Frontier Corps and other law enforcement agencies and lauded the sacrifices rendered by personnel the law enforcement agencies.

Participants paid homage to police officers, security personnel and other people who lost their lives in incidents of terrorism.
