M UZA FFA R A BA D: Demonstrations were held in parts of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) on Thursday and law enforcement agencies were yet to identify and arrest those who attacked Allama Tasawwar Hussain Naqvi al-Jawadi a day earlier.

Mr Jawadi, who is secretary general of the AJK chapter of Majlis Wahdatul Muslimeen (MWM),was shifted to Islamabad on Thursday evening by an air ambulance from Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed al Nahayan Hospital in Muzaf f arabad.

Mr Jawadi was shot at and critically wounded by attackers on the outskirts of Muzaffarabad when he was on his way to see his in-laws along with his spouse.

The police constituted teams to hunt down the assailants who were yet to be identified, DIGPolice Sardar Gulfraz Khan told Dawn. A few suspects were taken into custody and investigation was under way, he added.
