MANSEHRA: The police on Thursday claimed to have arrested a man and seized over 150kgs of explosive material from his jeep in Oghi.

`We have seized over 150kgs of explosive material being transported through ThakotOghi road and arrested a suspected person, a resident of Shangla district,` DPS Shimraz Khan told media persons in Oghi.

He said that following a tip-off a police party, led by Oghi SHO Amir Khan, searched a jeep and found explosive material packed in bags to mislead or give an impression that flour was being transported.

A bomb disposal squad was called from Mansehra to verify the quality of the seized material, which confirmed that it was an explosive material.

A man who was driving the jeep was also arrested. He was identified as Ajab Khan of Shangla district and shifted to a police station in Oghi.

`We have started investigation to ascertain the purpose of transporting the explosive material and more information would be shared with media on completion of the investigation,` the official said.
