GUJRAT: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) claimed to have arrested two alleged human traffickers who are proclaimed offenders (POs) in cases lodged against them.
A spokesman for FIA said a raiding team led by Sub-Inspector Irtaza Ansar of Gujrat circle arrested a suspect, Naheed Iqbal of Jalalpur Jattan Town, who was wanted in case number 190/2017registered under section 17/22 of the Emigration Ordinance (EO)1979.
He said that the suspect, and his accomplices extorted Rs2.5 million from a complainant, IrfanJaved, a resident of Jalalpur Jattan on the pretext of sending him to Canada on employment visa. However, the suspect neither sent the complainanttoCanadanorreturned the amount he had received. Investigation against the suspect is under way, he added.
He said in another raid by Gujranwala FIA circle a suspect Kashif Riaz of People`s Colony, Gujranwala, was arrested in case number 136/23 registered under section 17/22 of EO 1979.
The suspect allegedly received Rsi million from a complainant for sending him to Cannada for employment. Correspondent
