DURING normal days the Islamabad traffic is calm and disciplined. However, I fail to understand why its residents start driving like maniacs the minute it starts raining.
Honking goes up like anything, while rash and reckless drivers become a menace on wet and slippery roads.
To make matters worse all traffic lights go blank and chaos perpetuates amidst the constant downpour. The whole situation becomes dangerous as I witnessed two incidents on Nazimudin Road with knocked up cars and disoriented drivers.
All in all, I don`t know whether it`s the hurry to reach the destination or that the residents simply get drunk on rain but this attitude clearly needs to be changed.
