RAWALPINDI: As many as 21 suspects were held from different parts of the city during search operations by law enforcement agencies.
The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) and law enforcement agencies (LEAs) also recovered arms and ammunition from the possession of the detainees, the police said.
The CTD arrested two suspected from Jabbar Road at Gorakhpur and recovered 1,110 grams of explosive, six feet prima cord, four detonators, a hand grenade and an improvised explosive device from them.
Similarly, the police, Rangers and the army carried out a joint search operation in the limits of the Naseerabad police.
They checked 220 houses, a plaza and 10 shops and questioned a large number of residents. During the process, 21 people, including six Afghan nationals, were taken into custody and later shifted to the police station for further investigation.
