PESHAWAR: The National Accountability Bureau, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has arrested National Highway Authority’s former member (BPS-21) Yousuf Ali for accumulation of illegal assets worth Rs500 million.
He was produced before an accountability court of Judge Mohammad Asim Imam here on Thursday who remanded him to the NAB custody for five days.
According to a statement, the matter was brought into the notice of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa NAB authorities. Taking cognizance of the matter, an inquiry was authorised to collect the requisite evidence regarding moveable and immoveable properties owned, controlled and possessed by the accused in his name and in the name of his dependents/benamidars.
It said that the accused, Yousuf Ali, remained posted on key posts i.e. general manager NHA, member NHA, etc during his service.
The accused stacked assets worth millions of rupees in his name and in the name of benamindars.—Bureau Report
