Five killed, seven injured as rival groups clash over land ownership

BADIN: Five persons, including two brothers, were killed and seven others injured in a clash between two rival groups in a property dispute in Allah Bachayo Rahimoon village, within the limits of the Khorwah police station of Badin district on Sunday.
Four of the dead belonged to the Rahimoon community and the fifth one to the Khaskheli community.
Residents of the village told local reporters that the rival sides had quarreled over the ownership of a four-acre piece of agricultural land within the area a day earlier but without any violence. However, on Sunday, the two sides challenged each other as many people came well prepared for a fight and carried firearms, axes, clubs and other lethal objects.
The five people killed in the clash were identified as Anwar, 38, Madad, 35, Siddique, 40 and Abdul Majeed, 42 – from the Rahimoon community -- and Ahmed, from the Khaskheli community.
The injured victims from both sides were identified as Gul Hassan, Jaman, Yusuf, Mehn Wasayo, Ghulam Mohammad, Wahid Bakhsh and Gul Sher.
All the victims were transported to the Golarchi Taluka Hospital.
