NAROWAL: Sialkot police arrested a suspect from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa who had robbed a Chinese businessman of Rs6m.
In his complaint, Chinese businessman Linhai told the police that on Jan 21, 2025, he came from Faisalabad motorway with his driver and translator Hamid Shahid. He said he stopped at the Wadala Sandhuan Interchange to go to the washroom. When he returned, Hamid had escaped with Rs 6m.
Satara Police Station had registered an FIR against Hamid on the complaint of Mr Linhai.
Sialkot District Police Officer Faisal Shahzad toldDawnthat a reading team was formed under the leadership of DSP Daska Abid Rasheed which traced the suspect in the Kohat area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and arrested him.
The DPO said police also recovered Rs6m from the suspect. He announced complimentary certificates and cash prizes for the investigating team.
