WHEN Nepra and Ogra announce new prices in rupees, they also mention paisas.
But why are prices given in decimals? Last year the government notified that one-to-50-paisa coins would cease to be legal tender. Then how come these regulatory authorities announce prices in decimals? By doing this, companies and petrolpump owners keep minting money from consumers. This is a burden on consumers and leads to a financial loss.
Federal and regulatory authorities such as Nepra and Ogra should take notice of it.
The SBP should also intervene to save consumers from paying extra.
Consumer rights` organisations should also take notice of it and find a solution to it as soon as possible.
