Indian team beat Iran in kabaddi event

LAHORE: The Indian Tigers defeated Iranian Lions of Tabriz 38-34 on the first day of Sir Sabz (Green) Baba Guru Nanak International Circle Style Kabaddi Cup 2025 which commenced at the Wapda Sports Complex here on Wednesday.

The Indian Tigers led the first half 22-20 as it was neck and neck competition throughout the proceedings. Both teams demonstrated exceptional strategy and resilience throughout the game, with India ultimately securing a hard-fought victory.

Iranian team, led by Captain Ali Safari, showcased great determination, keeping the match competitive until the very end.

The second day of the tournament promises to deliver further actionpacked kabaddi. On Thursday, Pakistan Eagles will face the Indian Tigers.

Later, the Pakistan Eagles will also clash with Iran`s Lions of Tabriz in a bid to secure a spot in the final. The tournament will culminate in the final showdown on April 18 between the top two teams.

The tournament was officially inaugurated with an elaborate opening ceremony, attended by provincial minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar. Sports Reporter
