PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly has officially launched the process of verifying academic degrees of its employees.

A press release issued here on Wednesday said a sitting of the provincial assembly chaired by the Speaker Babar Saleem invited heads of all universities and educational boards from across the province.

During the session, the academic credentials were handed over directly to the respective heads for verification.

On the occasion, Mr Saleem said the purpose of directly handing over the documents to the academic authorities was to ensure complete transparency in the verification process.

He emphasised that the verification would be carried out under the supervision of educational board heads in a fair and transparent manner.

He added that all forms of forgery and backdoor dealings would be strictly prevented, and any employee found in possession of fake degrees would face strict action. — APP
