MANSEHRA: Two people were killed and another suffered serious injuries when a mini truck plunged into a deep ravine in Jigal Bankud area of Lower Kohistan district on Wednesday.
`We have shifted the bodies and the injured to a nearby health facility after retrieving them from the gorge with the help of locals,` district chief of Rescue 1122 Zafaruddin told reporters.
The vehicle was on the way back to Kohistan from Rawalpindi when its driver, while negotiating a sharp turn, lost its control, causing it to skid off the Karakoram Highway and plunge into a deep ravine.
The residents retrieved the bodies and injured and shifted them to the civil hospital in Pattan, the district headquarters of Lower Kohistan.
The bodies were handed over to their respective families after doctors completed medico-legal formalities. The deceased were identified as Amanullah and Nazir Ahmad, both residents of Kamila in Upper Kohistan district. Khan Mohammad, who received critical injuries, was referred to the Ayub Medical Complex in Abbottabad. Correspondent
