Dir DCC vows to intensify action against drug traffickers

LOWER DIR: The District Coordination Committee (DCC) has reaffirmed its commitment to intensifying operations against drug traffickers, electricity thieves, beggars, non-custom paid vehicles, unregistered warehouses, illegal petrol pumps, unauthorised housing societies, and unregistered seminaries in Lower Dir district.
This was decided during a meeting chaired by Commandant Dir Task Force Brig Sanaullah here on Wednesday. Deputy commissioner Mohammad Arif Khan, district police officer Abdus Salam Khalid and representatives of relevant departments were also in attendance.
DC Arif Khan briefed the forum on the progress of various directives issued by the provincial government, highlighting the steps taken toward their implementation across the district.
Brig Sanaullah directed the departments to maintain close coordination and ensure effective enforcement of the government`s directives. He stressed that maintaining law and order and protecting the lives and property of citizens remained the administration`s top priority.
Appreciating the collaborative efforts of district departments, Brig Sanaullah praised the stakeholders for their commendable performance in several key areas, and encouraged continued teamwork to sustain progress.
Meanwhile, DC Arif Khan along with assistant commissioner Zyed Safi paid a visit to the district bar, wherein the newly-elected president Saleem Khan Advocate warmly welcomed them.
The deputy commissioner acknowledged the vital role the legal community plays in society, particularly in ensuring access to justice and safeguarding the rights of citizens.
He urged lawyers to continue supporting the oppressed by using their legal expertise to ensure that justice prevails and that wrongdoers are held accountable. The DC also called upon the legal community to stand by security agencies and the district administration in efforts to counter anti-state elements.
Highlighting the significance of collaboration, Arif Khan encouraged the district bar to actively work with the administration in promoting human rights and ensuring the effective implementation of special laws, particularly those concerning the rights of women and children.
