LAHORE: A minor boy was allegedly shot dead by an unidentified man in the Shahdara area here on Thursday.

Identified as Shahzeb (12), the son of a poor worker, the victim was a resident of Nain Sukh.

Quoting initial inquiries, a police official said it seemed that the boy was kidnapped by the unidentified man in an attempt to rape but he shot him dead on resistance. The locals rushed to the spot on hearing the gunshot and found the boy in a pool of blood. They shifted him to hospital where doctors pronounced him dead.

The police sent the body to the morgue for autopsy after lodging a murder case against the unidentified man.—Staff Reporter
