Umar`s hurricane knock sinks PAF

KARACHI: Pakistan batsman Umar Akmallit up the seventh Corporate T20 Cup fixture on Wednesday night with a belligerent innings while guiding Omar Associates to an eight-wicket drubbing of PAF at the DHA Sports Club Moin Khan Academy.

In the night`s other game, holders K-Electric were in for a shock as the SSGCL clinched a 66-run victory.

PAF, batting first, collected 176-3 with Mohammad Irfan making a 51-ball 76 not out (six fours and three sixes) but man-of-the-match Umar then made light work of the chase by hoisting eight sixes and hitting five fours in an unbeaten 48-ball 93 as Omar Associates reached 180-2 in 16.4 overs.

Adil Amin shone with bat (48 off 33 balls, five fours and three sixes) and ball (5-10 in three overs of of f-spin) to claim the man-of-the-match award while Ahmed Shehzad struck 50 (28 balls, five sixes and four fours)in SSGCL`s impressive ef fort against the reigning champions K-Electric.
