Forest employees demand salary

SOUTH WAZIRISTAN: The employees of forest department staged a protest to outside press club in Wana here the other day to seek release of their salaries.

They said that their monthly salaries had been stopped for the last two years. They said that they were facing starvation due to stoppage of salaries.

The representatives of the protesters including Abdul Basit Wazir, Jalal Wazir and Amanullah told journalists that authorities had made promises with them many times that their salaries would be released but to no avail.

They said that they would be forced to take drastic measures if their salaries were not released soon.

They also threatened to hold protests in Tank and Dera Ismail Khan districts.

The protesters demanded of the provincial government and forest department to immediately release theirsalaries.

The divisional forest officer, Zeeshan, told journalists that salaries could not be released to employees owing to lack of funds in the province. Correspondent
