PTI `softens` stance on PML-N

LAHORE, June 16: The Tehrik-i-Insaaf dropped a hint at softening its stance on the PML-N on Saturday when its vice-chairman said the parties not part of the `anti-judiciary conspiracy` should stand together in support of the judiciary, leaving aside their differences.
`I request all those political parties which are not part of this conspiracy against the judiciary, as well as the civil society, to keep aside their other issues and stand by the judiciary,` Shah Mahmood Qureshi told a press conference.
Asked if the PTI would approach other parties for the purpose, he said the issue would be discussed on return of party chief Imran Khan from abroad on Monday.
He, however, emphasised the PTI, the PML-N and the Jamaat-i-Islami had a clear opinion on the `conspiracy` and they needed to be unanimous on the issue although they had differences on other subjects. To highlight the sensitivity of the issue, he said the coming days were important as the country was inching towards election and only an independent and autonomous judiciary could foil nefarious designs of `some circles` to rig the polls.
He announced the PTI would hold `solidarity with judiciary` shows at district headquarters on June 18.
When asked who he thought was behind what he called a conspiracy, he said `the man living in one of the huge buildings on the Constitutional Avenue of Islamabad` About why the conspiracy was hatched, he said hearings of some important cases like NRO, rental power projects and PTI`s case against NA speaker`s ruling on PM`s conviction by the apex court were in final stages that could have deep political repercussions for the accused.-Staff Reporter
