CHITRAL: The teachers of Government College Chitral have demanded removal of the principal from the post for allegedly being too harsh to them.

In an application addressed to the secretary higher education department, the teachers said that the principal, Masood Ahmed Khan, was a bad-tempered person who often used abusive language in routine discussions with staff members.

`On many occasions he directly abused teachers, administrative and other staff in routine working hours, which is against code of ethics for a person holding such a high position,` said the application.

The teachers said that students often protested against the unethical behaviour of the principal, but the higher authorities didn`t lend any ear to the issue.

They said if the principal continued to hold the position, there was likely chance of clashes erupting among staff, students and the principal.

They pointed out that the principal always threatened the teaching faculty with adverse remarks on their ACRs with an intention to stop their promotions.

They alleged that the principal often resorted to capital punishment of students.

In their application, the teachers said that the principal should not be assigned any administrative responsibility as he was `not fit` for such a job.

They alsothreatenedtogo on a strike if the school head wasn`t changed.
