Man kills sister for honour in Kohat

KOHAT: A man allegedly killed his sister in the name of honour in Shakardarra here on Tuesday, police said.
The father of the deceased told police that his daughter, 15, was sitting in their hujra in Dhodaka area when his son came there with a Kalashnikov. He exchanged hot words with the family and then opened fire, 1(illing his sister on the spot, said the complainant. He added that after committing the crime the killer fled the scene.
The father said his son was angry over his sister`s alleged affair with a man.
COMPENSATION PAID: Deputy Commissioner, Kohat, Kamran Afridi on Tuesday distributed compensation to the heirs of those killed and injured in terrorincidents.
The victims of Marai firing incident and Hangu bomb blast were given Rs2.8 million. The heirs of each dead were given Rs0.5 million while the injured received Rs200,000 each.
RAMAZAN SECURITY PLAN: The district police have chalked out a security plan for Ramazan under which mosque committees, police and elders will coordinate to thwart terror acts.
This was disclosed byDistrict Police Officer Mohammad Soheb Ashraf in a statement on Tuesday. He called upon the clerics and citizens to help the police keeppeaceduringRamazan, particularly during Taraweeh times.
AFGHANS ARRESTED: The police on Tuesday arrested two Afghan nationals for allegedly being involved in preparation of fake CNICs. They were identified as Malik Khan and HakeemKhan.
ALLEGED ROBBER ARRESTED: A special police team on Tuesday arrested a suspect, involved in bank robberies in Rawalpindi and Islamabad, in a raid in Mitha Khan area on the Hangu road here. In one of the robberies that the suspect Abdul Hassan alias Lala tool< part in, a security guard was also killed when he put up resistance. Cases had been registered against him in different police stations in Islamabad.
The DPO Rawalpindi had requested the Kohat police to nab the culprit, who was a resident of Orakzai Agency and was hiding in Kohat. The police team also seized a Kalashnikov and hundreds of cartridges from his house in MithaKhan.-Correspondent
