Karak varsity VC asks students to focus on research

KARAK: Khushal Khan Khattak University, Karak, vice-chancellor Prof Mohammad Ibrahim Khattak has said that the government is providing laptops to the students to promote research-based education in the country and asl He was addressing a ceremony arranged for distribution of laptops provided under the Prime Minister`s Laptop Scheme here on Thursday at the university campus.
The laptops were given away to the students of MPhil and PhD programmes of the university. The VC asked the teachers to produce educated people to serve the nation with full devotion.
On this occasion, additional director of planning and development Rashad Khattak said that 54 laptops had been distributed among the MPhil and PhD students.
He said that laptops would also be distributed among the students of master`s and BS programmes.
Meanwhile, Tanzeem-iAsataza has rejected the provincial budget and resolved to move the court if the government does not incorporate their demands into the budget document.
This was stated by the leaders of Tanzeem-iAsataza Khairullah Hawari and others in a press release issued here on Thursday.
They said that the provincial government had accepted their demands to merge ad hoc reliefs of 2013 and 2014 in the basic pay and implement the time scale formula for their promotion, but the same was not reflected in the budget.
Mr Hawari also demanded of the government to regularise the services of ad hoc lecturers, teaching assistants and the teachers recruited following NTS tests.
