LAHORE: A suspected robber was allegedly shot dead by a citizen during a house robbery in Mustafa Town area here on Sunday.

The incident occurred when four suspects entered the house of Asif Ali, and his family raised an alarm when they spotted the armed men in the premises.

A police official said that one of the robbers fired a shot to terrorise the family.

The male members of the family returned the fire which led to a brief encounter.

During a cross-fire, he said, a suspected robber got a bullet and died instantly while his other accomplices fled the scene.

The family said the fleeing robbers took away a sacrificial goat. The killed robber was identified as ljaz, a resident of Hassan Town of Lahore.

The police lodged a case and launched further investigations after shifting the body to the city morgue for autopsy.-Staff Reporter
