LAAR CAMPUS: The delay in the establishment of Sindh University`s Laar Campus in Badin is seriously shocking.

Despite the allocation of 93 acres of land years ago for a new campus, not a single building has been constructed thus far.

In the 2024-25 Annual Development Programme (ADP), a budgetary allocation is now once again awaiting approval.

Meanwhile, over 800 students continue to suffer in substandard facilities. The Laar region is home to thousands of students from the lower-middle class who deserve access to quality education.

The authorities must fulfil their promise, and build a future for the youth of Sindh.

Abdulfabbar Badin DEJECTED GRADUATES: I visited Awaran recently and heard many stories reflecting widespread frustration among the local people about the unjust situation regarding unemployment in Balochistan. One incident, in particular, struck me deeply. An unlettered woman who struggled to write even her own name was earning a reasonable monthly salary owing to her government job, while a graduate could not find any job at all. His silent expression and painful words still represent a haunting memory. The government should ensure people`s right to fair opportunities so that the deserving are not missed out.

Maria Sajid Mirwani Mashkey NEGLECTED LANDMARK: It is deeply concerning to witness the current state of neglect at the Quaid-i-Azam Portrait site, an iconic landmark on the Islamabad Highway at Katti Pahari.

During a recent visit, I found the entire area deserted. The guardroom was in disrepair, benches were broken, and right after sunset the whole area was swallowed up by darkness. Despite significant funds having been invested by the Capital Development Authority (CDA), the site is in a state of abandonment. Immediate remedial action is required to restore and secure this national monument, ensuring it reflects the respect and dignity worthy of the Father of the Nation.
