RAWALPINDI, July 16: Two boys, one of them a scavenger, drowned in Nullah Leh on Tuesday.
The first incident occurred at Sher Zaman Colony on Tulsa Road. Ageeb Masih, 12, was playing on the bank of the nullah when he slipped into the water and was swept away.
Rescue 1122 divers reached the spot but could not recover the body till the evening.
In the second incident, a scavenger also drowned in the nullah at Dhoke Charaghddin.
According to rescue officials, three scavengers were searching the garbage on the bank of the nullah when one of them slipped into the water.
`Our divers continued a rescue operation for more than two hours till the sunset,` said a spokesman for the emergency services.
He added that the search operation would be re-launched on Wednesday morning.
