LAHORE: In collaboration with the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB), the City District Government of Lahore will introduce an e-stamp paper system.
The system will start functioning at three facilitation centres established at district courts (Lower Mall) and tehsil courts, known as Model Town and Cantonment courts.
According to officials, those seeking stamp papers valuing more than Rs1,000 (stamp duty, transfer fee etc regarding transfer of property, indemnity bond etc) can get them from the 69 branches of the Bank of Punjab in Lahore by submitting the challan, which they will get through the online system at the facilitation centres or the website.
`If the person is unable to use the system, they can get the procedure done at the bank, CDGL`s Additional District Collector (General) Asfand Yar Baloch told Dawn on Tuesday.
He said the system would generate chalan after calculating duties as information related to localities, areas and rates was already fed in the system.
Also, a capacity building workshop was held here at Town Hall on Tuesday. Presided over by PITB Director General (E-Governance) Sajid Latif, the workshop was attended by the CDGL officials, property dealers, sub-registrars and revenue officials.
Mr Latif said the e-paper system had already been introduced in 10 selected districts. In Lahore, it would start functioning from August 23.
