Tuesday was the day of young upcoming performers at Alhamra.

Young boys and girls were exuberant on their first performance ceremony, which was wholesome.

It was wholesome in the sense that earlier the academy used to provide opportunity to perform annually to vocal music classes, but this year all students of the academy performed making it a goodwhole package featuring dance, singing and instrumental music.

The Hall 2 was fully packed with a bouncy lively audience, mostly young people who enjoyed every bit of the show. The function was conducted by Sidra Illyas in a very impressive manner.

Lahore Arts Council Executive Director Atta Muhammad Khan and the Board of Governors chairman also attended the performances as a token of encouragement to students.

The most ravishing dance performance was by Nayab Zahira from Kinnaird College, who performed to the song `O Rey Piya.

Her dance mannerism was up to the mark and had a great liveliness.

The group dance performances based on Sufi and classical themes also had a lot to offer in terms ofthe richness of not only the poetry content but some fine dances by the artistes. The dancers were Basharat, Ali, Hira, Nabila, Sofia, Babra, Heera, Makhna and Imran.

The vocalists also enthralled the audience with some hearttouching singing. The famous song `Sunn Wanjli Di Mithari Tann` was much appreciated by the audience sung by Sehrish.

Isha Faisal from Kinnaird College captivated the audience by singing `Wo Humsafer Tha.` Similarly songs such as `Kadi Mil Sawan Way`, and `Mahyia Teray Milnay Nu` made audience clap for singers many times.
