QUETTA: The Commander of Southern Command, Lt Gen Aamir Riaz, met young Pakistani scientist Imran Khan Yousufzal here on Tuesday and congratulated him for bringing laurels for the country. Mr Khan is doing research in gravitational waves in Italy.
Mr Khan, who belongs to Quetta, visited the headquarters of the Southern Command along with his father and mother.
Lt Gen Riaz praised efforts of the young Pakistani scientist and his parents for uplifting the name of Pakistan at international level through his research.
`Youngsters like you are pride and assets of Pakistan and we are proud of you,` Lt Gen Riaz told him while kissing the forehead of the young scientist. Lt Gen Riaz gave away shields and prizes to the young scientist.
Mr Khan is the son of Ajab Gul, a retired Hawaldar of Punjab Regiment. His mother played an important role in his education and in helping him become a prominent researcher of Pakistan.
