GILGIT: The Gilgit-Baltistan government on Tuesday strongly condemned Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi`s statement regarding human rights violations in GB.
According to a statement issued here Information and Education Minister Haji Ibrahim Sanai said people of Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir were enjoying full democratic rights and playing their role in the nation building.
He urged the Indian prime minister to pay his attention towards the situation in the IIndian held Kashmir where hundreds of thousands of its troops were deployed and involved in mass killings and enforced disappearances and suppression of Kashmiri people.
He said that Modi`s stance showed his utter desperation.
Meanwhile, in another statement, spokesperson of Gilgit-Baltistan government, Faizullah Faraq, said every child of GB was defender of Pakistan`s ideological boundaries.
He said no geographical affinity was needed for G B ` s ideological cohesion with Pakistan.T h e GB gov-ernment spol(esperson said af ter getting independence GB people willingly accessed the region with Pakistan.
The GB people are patriots and defenders of the country and the Indian premier needs to take steps to curb human rights violations in Indian held Kashmir, hesaid.
Mr Faraq said GB people had scariPakistan, adding tinue their mission of the country.
