GUJRAT: The Punjab government has approved Rs1 million for the construction of waiting areas and alteration of existing buildings of each of the 90 computerised land record centres (CLRCs) out of the total 143 centres across the province.

In 2010, the Punjab Land Record Authority (PLRA) had got at least 80 to 90 buildings con-structedforthe thenLand Record Management Information System which were later converted into the CLRCs.

The newly allocated funds had been provided to alter the design of each existing office of these well-equipped buildings.

With an increasing number of visitors at the land record centres, the space is proving limited and visitors often have to wait in the heat outside the offices.
