Minor girl`s murder sparks public outcry

NOWSHERA: Body of a six-year-old girl stuffed in a sack was recovered in Rashakai area here the other day with the police fearing that she might have been sexually assaulted.

The occurrence resulted into public outcry with people demanding of the government and police to arrest the culprits involved in the heinous act at the earliest.

An FIR of the occurrence was registered at the Risalpur police station on Saturday under section 302 (intentional murder) of PPC and sections 50 (exposure to seduction) and 53 (sexual abuse) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Child Protection and Welfare Act, 2010.

The complainant in the FIR is the father of the deceased girl, who is a permanent resident of Bajaur tribal district but presently resides at Rashakai, Nowshera.

He stated that she went out of house to play at around 2pm on Saturday. He said at around 3pm when she did not return they started search for her. Later, he said he received information that his daughter`s body was lying at a place, and on reaching there, he found the body was stuffed in a sack with two blood-stained bricks lying nearby.

The complainant stated that his family had no enmity with anyone. The body was later shifted to a Peshawar hospital for autopsy.

Meanwhile, the provincial government and civil society members have assured the bereaved family of all-out support in tracing the culprits.

When contacted, a police official said they had been probing the incident.
