VEHARI:Ayoungman was killed in an encounter with police at a place about 25 kilometres away from here on Friday.

Police said Ali Liaquat, 25, a resident of Chak 21-WB, did not stop his motorcycle at a check post, which promoted police to chase him. The suspect opened hre on police who retaliated and killed Liaquat.

ASI Waqas Ghuman claimed that he was a dacoit and involved in several cases.

Abida Bibi, mother ofthe deceased, and other f amily members proteste d at the DHQ hospital during autopsy. They alleged that police had killed the innocent youngster and opened fire on him without provocation.

The family demanded a judicial inquiry into the encounter and demanded a murder case against the police officials.

Saddar DSP Saadat Ali suspended ASIs Younas and Waqas and ordered investigation.

The f amily later demonstrated outside the DPO of fice where they kept the dead body. They raised slogans against police.
