LAHORE: The University of Management and Technology (UMT) President Ibrahim Hasan Murad has announced `Dr Hasan Murad Engineering Scholarship` worth Rs 100 million to support youth from flood-affected areas of Pakistan.

This scholarships are being offered through the ILM Fund with an aim to make higher education accessible to all, particularly those with meagre resources.

MEETING: Punjab Minister for Higher Education Raja Yassir Humayun Sarfraz on Friday held a meeting with four newly-appointed vice-chancellors of public sector universities.

The meeting was held at the committee room of the HED in Lahore. University of Sargodha VC Prof Dr Qaisar Abbas, Muhammad Nawa Sharif University of Engineering and Technology (MNS UET) Multan VC Dr Muhammad Kamran, Emerson University Multan VC Dr Muhammad Ramzan and University of Sahiwal VC Dr Javaid Akhtar were present in the meeting.

The minister asked the VCs to promote merit in financial and administrative matters.He directed the HED secretary to take immediate steps to resolve the lingering issues of public sector universities. Staff Reporter
