Manhandling of hospital MS MPA`s sons get bail soon after `arrest in raid`

NAROWAL: The two sons of the ruling PML-N MPA who had manhandled a doctor on Sunday were granted bail by a magistrate on Monday soon after what the police says their `arrest in a raid` According to Shakargarh Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Iftikhar Ali, the police arrested ruling party MPA Maulana Ghiasuddin`s sons -Riazuddin and Zaid -in a raid on their house.

The DSP said the suspects were booked under sections 506, 186 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).

He added that because the of fence was bailable, a magistrate granted the suspects bail after which they were released.

The sons of the MPA, along with another suspect, had allegedly manhandledDrTarig,Medical Superintendent (MS) ofthe Shakargarh Tehsil Headquarters Hospital.

The police were conducting raids to arrest the third suspect, the DSP added.

Meanwhile, the local chapter of the Young Doctors` Association and paramedical staff has condemned the incident.

A YDA representative said influential people were not allowing the honest doctors to perform their duty in the public hospitals, demanding the government should provide protection to them against such elements.

`It is very difficult for us to do our duty due to undue political pressure, he added.

The hospital`s Gynecologist, Dr Amina said, `No patient named Iqra was admitted to the Gynecology Ward of the THQ hospital,` alleging that the suspects wanted to get costly medicines free of cost against fake documents through local purchase slip.

YDA and paramedical staff demanded that the Punjab chief minister should take strict notice of the undue political interference in public hospitals and order steps for hospitals` staff`s protection.
