Tribute paid to late Jahangir Badar

PESHAWAR: Speakers at a condolence meeting here on Wednesday paid rich tribute to Pakistan Peoples Party`s former general secretary (late) Jahangir Badar for the services he had rendered for strengthening of democracy in the country.

Quran Khwani was also held for the departed soul of the PPP leader. Prominent among the participants included former provincial president of PPP women wing MPA Nighat Orakzai, former provincial general secretary Shazia Tehmas, former divisional president Naseem Riaz and others.

They highlighted the long association of Jahangir Badar with the Bhutto family and his services for PPP and described his death as a huge loss for the party. They said that Jahangir Badarhad played avitalroleinstrengtheningofthe partyin and outside the parliament and always remained steady despite hardships during martial laws.

They urged the PPP workers to continue work for the party`s welfare to fulfil the mission of late party leaders.

Meanwhile, former provincial general secretary Mohammad Humayun Khan said in a statement that workers of PPP would remember Badar for long time because he worked for the party steadily and remained associated with it till his death.

Qaumi Wat an Party chairman Af tab Ahmed Khan Sherpao also expressed deep sorrow over the sad demise of Jahangir Badar, who breathed his last the other day.

In a condolence message, Mr Sherpao expressed his sympathies with the bereaved family and said that Badar was a seasoned parliamentarian and devoted political worker who served the nation for long. He prayed to Almighty Allah to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and give courage to his family members to bear this irreparable loss with patience. Bureau Report
