Headmistress among 10 absent teachers suspended

FAISALABAD: As many as 10 female teachers, including the headmistress of Government Girls High School, Chak 108-GB, were suspended from service for being absent from duty without seeking leave from the administration.
A head teacher of the government boys high school has also been placed under suspension as he allegedly failed to make the computer lab functional.
During a surprise visit to the school, Javeed Chishti, the chief executive officer of the education authority, found that headmistress of the school and nine other teachers were absent. He also checked the record to find whether the teachers had obtained the leave officially.
But all teachers were absent without any leave.
The [suspended] women teachers are: Farhat Jabeen,Rukhsana, Sadia Ihsan, Shafgat Parveen, Sajida Jabeen, Gulnaz Akhtar, Naveed Akhtar, Humaira Nazish, Naheed Fatima and Amna Safdar.
Khalil Ahmed of the boys school failed to make the computer lab and its UPS functional on Nov 10 last.
However, his suspension order was issued on Thursday.
All the teachers will appear before the CEO today (Friday)to clarify their position.
A couple of days ago, the CEO had found more than 20 male and female teachers of the government higher secondary school for boys and girls at Rehmay Shah, Tandlianwala.
All teachers were fined Rs10,000 each and Deputy Commissioner Salman Ghani also rejected their appeals, the CEO told Dawn.
He said surprise raids had been started following complaints that teachers in remote areas used to stay away from duty.
