RAHIM YAR KHAN: A naib moharrar was suspended from service on Saturday for allegedly tying two children [suspected of theft] to a stool with handcuffs at Garhi Ikhtiar Khan area of Khanpur tehsil, some 46-kmsfrom here.

Khanpur Saddar police took into custody Amjad alias Billi (12) and Abdul Qadir alias Buton (10) in a case of stealing cell phones and laptops. Naib moharrar Nadeem tied the children to a stool with handcuffs.

Police spokesperson Umar Salimtold Dawn that the children were `habitual thieves` and were arrested in a case registered against them under section 380/457 of PPC.

He said District Police Officer Zeeshan Asghar suspended Nadeem from service and appointed Khanpur ASP Mahar Abdul Latif to investigate the matter.
