KARAK: Jamaat-i-Islami, Karak district, has expressed its reservations about distribution of contracts of development projects in the local government departments here and demanded of Provincial Local Government Minister Inayatullah to take notice of alleged corruption in his ministry`s departments.
The demand was made by Karak city JI president Shahab Noor, provincial vicepresident of Shabab-i-Milli Mohammad Zahoor and Gul Mohammad during a joint press conference here on Friday.
They claimed that contracts were being awarded in the district council and tehsil municipal administration, Karak, in violation of merit.
They alleged that the practice of sale and purchase of development projects was continuing unabated, vowing that they would not let anyone to defame the ministry which was under the control of JI minister.
The JI activists said that they believed in transparent award of uplift projects and would not accept the monopoly of few individuals in this regard.
They demanded of Mr Inayatullah to investigate the award of recent contracts of uplift projects in district council and TMAs.
